2016 PLANS PROGRESSING WELL FOR JAKE... BUT SUPPORT STILL REQUIRED!
After a busy 2015 making his debut in both the Avon Tyres British GT Championship and the Mobil 1 Porsche Supercup, and also returning to the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship, 21 year-old Jake Hill has several exciting options for 2016.
“I had some brilliant opportunities in 2015, learnt a lot and feel I really progressed as a driver, so I am really determined to build on that and work on achieving even more this year. I have had some great support and am extremely grateful to everyone who made it possible for me to race - now we need to get things tied up for 2016!” smiled Jake. |
Hill has already had a positive start to the year, racing in the Dan Wheldon Karting event at Autosport International in January, beginning coaching and instructing and receiving the superb news that he has once again been chosen by the British Racing Drivers Club (BRDC) as part of their ‘Rising Stars’ programme, something he has proudly been part of since being inducted in 2010 when leading the Ginetta Junior championship.
“Being part of the BRDC Rising Stars programme is a huge honour. There are less than forty young driver’s from the commonwealth aged between 16 and 23 years-old that are chosen each year based on their ability, and their potential to become professional drivers and represent the world’s most established motorsport club on an international level.
I think I am the driver who has been part of this prestigious programme longest, and hope I can remain on this programme until I am 23, then hopefully will get the chance to become a full member. It really means so much to me to be recognised by a club that is a ‘who’s who’ of motorsport - from it’s president, former F1 driver and Le Mans winner Derek Warwick, to former presidents like F1 champions Damon Hill OBE and Sir Jackie Stewart - for legends like this, and experts on the judging panel like Tim Harvey, Ian Titchmarsh, Matt James and Jakob Ebrey to effectively say ‘we think you have what it takes’ is such a massive boost and counts for so much in this fiercely competitive industry.”
As always it is a constant effort to raise the investment to race, but things are looking positive for Jake’s 2016 plans in this respect already.
“We have some exciting offers in series like BTCC, British GT, European GT4 and Porsche Supercup, and already have several investors on board, but at present are still working hard on gaining further investment to allow us to get the deal we really want sorted and not miss out. It’s a measure of the progress we’ve made that the offers and the deals are really strong, but still require further investment. We can put together a superb package for anyone who wants to benefit from being part of our plans, so anyone who wants to find out how to get onboard please get in touch - it can be done for a lot less than you think!”
