A stunning lap saw Rob Fenn and Jake Hill take their second Pole Position of 2019 in the Pre 66 Touring Car, the 1965 Ford Mustang ahead of the 62 car field.
"Wow! Last year I won in the Pre 66 GT event, and this year we have Pole Position! It always means a lot, but this event is so special, and I am loving driving with Rob (Fenn) so this makes it extra special. Let's see what we can do on raceday" smiled Hill.
Qualifying second in class and 11th overall in the Pre 66 GT race in the Lotus Elan 26R, both drivers felt that had the session not been stopped, a top six position was possible.
"The car felt great, it was just frustrating the session was stopped as we would have been able to get more time out of the car. 11th out of 62 is still pretty good, so let's see what we can do in the race" said Fenn.
The 45 minute Transatlantic Trophy Touring Car race starts at 16.15pm on Saturday, with the 40 minute Pre 66 GT racestaring at 14.05 on Sunday, with guests from Hill's partners Aston Lark joining on both days.
"We have a great chance in both races. Rob is driving superbly, and I am loving the balance of both cars. Let's see!"
