Season best qualifying for Hill at Croft
In a frantic qualifying session for Round 10 of the 2019 Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship at Croft in North Yorkshire today, Trade Price Cars Racing's Jake Hill steered through the dramas and put in a strong performance to qualify 9th overall, and 4th in the Independent Driver's Category, his best so far this season.
"It was such a crazy session" said Hill. "To have one or two Red Flags is rare, but FIVE - I really didn't think we'd ever see that!
After putting in a solid lap to go 10th early on,the Red Flags that stopped the session were caused mainly by drivers hitting the tyre stacks, these put in place to prevent drivers corner cutting.
Championship leader Rory Butcher, and race winner Andrew Jordan both had incidents that stopped the session, but in the midst of the stoppages and rain starting to fall, Hill put in a superb 1.22.175 lap to end the session P9.
"Really pleased with that. Qualifying in the top-ten is always the goal, but this series is so incredibly close its very tough to achieve. Big thanks as always to Trade Price Cars Racing and AmD Tuning for their hard work, and for giving me a great car. Let's see what we can do from here"
