A busy August Bank Holiday weekend will see 25 year-old BTCC front-runner Jake Hill race two completely different, but equally special racing machines, firstly at the Oulton Park Gold Cup in the spectacular 'Calsonic' Nissan Skyine R32 for Ric Wood in the Dunlop Saloon Car Cup, then racing with his friend Ollie Streek in a 1965 Mini Cooper at Brands Hatch on Bank Holiday Monday.
"I saw Ric's Skyline at Oulton when I was racing there in BTCC. My friend and sponsor Graham Saul from Cloud 9 Hosts is a good friend of Ric's and then I saw it again when I was racing at the Silverstone Classic. My pride and joy is my 1992 R32 Skyline, so I have always dreamed of racing one, and then Graham put me forward as Ric's regular Pro driver Adam Morgan was unavailable - so thanks to Ric, Graham AND Adam I have this remarkable opportunity - and on one of my favourite circuits too!"
Hill's close friend Streek was keen to get the BRDC member's input on his Mini, having only started racing the car earlier this year, and already impressed with podium finishes, so is hopeful of more success in the CSCC event on Monday.
"Jake is one of my best friends, so it's gonna be great fun, and of course his technical understanding will help me get more out of the car. I am really excited to see what he makes of it - he's jumping in it 'cold' for qualifying, but I'm sure he will not only love driving it, but be bang on the pace straight away" said Streek.
"I don't think I could imagine two more different cars to race in a weekend! This year I have raced my Audi S3 in BTCC, a 1965 Ford Mustang, a 1965 Lotus Elan 26R, a 2009 Aston Martin GT2, I will race with my sponsor Ian Knight from Racetruck next month, and now these two cars this weekend....I am so grateful for these incredible opportunities - let's see what we can achieve!"
Hill races in the Dunlop Saloon Car Cup on Sunday at Oulton Park, then the Mintex Classic K at Brands Hatch on Monday afternoon - and will be back in action in his Trade Price Cars Racing Audi S3 in BTCC at Knockhill on 14/15th September.
