Having been part of the British Racing Driver's Club (BRDC) 'Rising Stars' programme since he was 16 years-old, BTCC race-winner Jake Hill was delighted to be elected as a full-member of the world's oldest and most prestigious motorsport club last year, having scored significant results in BTCC, Porsche Carerra Cup and British GT.
Today (11th February 2020) 25 year-old Hill joins the Elite of young drivers hailing from the UK & Commonwealth as he is inducted as one of the select few 'Superstar' drivers as recognised by the BRDC.
In recent years Formula One stars including Lando Norris, Alex Albon and George Russell have been part of this programme, Hill being incredibly honoured to join fellow BTCC driver Ashley Sutton amongst others.
"Some of the drivers that have been part of the programme in the past read as a who's-who of motorsport. To be recognised as one of a handful of drivers that are on the verge of establishing themselves as top-line professionals in our amazing sport is such an honour' said Hill.
"To join Ash (Sutton) and drivers like Bentley GT driver Seb Morris, Ferrari academy driver Callum Illot and the incredible Billy Monger amongst others is a major acheivement. It shows that the hard-work and strong results in BTCC and also Historic Racing, plus the racing I've done before has been noticed and rewarded by legends like Derek Warwick'.
The programme supports young drivers with PR & Media guidance, dedicated fitness programmes, the BRDC wealth of contacts and associations, driver guidance and career path advice.
"I am determined to make the most of this opportunity and will wear the BRDC Superstars emblem with real pride on my helmet and racesuit throughout the season@ added Hill, added Kent-based Hill.
BRDC Superstars director Andy Meyrick praised Hill.
"We have seen just how hard Jake has worked both on and off track to progress his career. It's clear by his results, especially last season, how naturally talented he is, and a great example to other young drivers how persistence can pay off. I am excited to see how Jake develops and looking forward to working with him greatly.
