HEARTBREAK FOR HILL IN BTCC QUALIFYING
BRDC Rising Star Jake Hill experienced the highs and lows of the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship at Donington today, putting in an outstanding performance to end practice P3 and P2 then qualify a career-best P6, only to later learn the car had failed the post-session scrutineering.
After being blisteringly fast all day, a superb lap saw Hill initially P3 in qualifying, before being edged to P6, still an outstanding performance, and backed-up by Team HARD team mate Michael Epps in P9. Then after the session it was found that the rear wing was marginally outside the permitted tolerances, resulting in Hill's times being disallowed and him being put to the back of the grid for race one
"The car has just been awesome all day. So much more balanced than at Brands Hatch, big thanks to (team manager and engineer) Kingsley and my boys for giving me such a superb car. I know we were there on genuine pace, and of course I am totally gutted I know that over the three races - and with the chance of rain - we can still be in the mix on Sunday" smiled Hill.
"We have lots of guests for TAG Industries, Rolec, Sportif Cars, Brisky Racing, Ecoflam and Danfoss coming to support us, so I will be charging through for them, and for the team. We all know we can get something still, so I am going to wake up focussed and just get stuck in!"
Sunday's races are shown LIVE on ITV4 at 11.30am, 2.15pm and 5.15pm
