Hill Ends Second BTCC Test Day on top
After narrowly missing out on being fastest at the end of day one at Snetterton, 23 year-old BRDC Rising Star Jake Hill. ended day two’s afternoon session on top, posting the fastest time on a tricky, drying circuit in his TAG Racing VW Passat CC.
Building on a superb session in the opening day, where Hill topped the times late on but was pipped by just 0.012 seconds by Jack Goff, Hill’s crew worked through countless changes in the morning session, getting a really solid level of data. Then shortly before lunch a thunderstorm flooded the circuit leaving the Norfolk track under-water!
“We had a really productive first day. My engineers and my crew worked so well together and we got the car working better than ever, and the car gave me so much confidence. Today we worked through more ideas - lots of them frankly didn’t work - but that’s fine and that’s what testing is for! However the run at the end of the day saw me put in some really good laps and to finish P1 is a really good feeling. My team-mates Will (Burns) and Mike (Epps) also finished well up, so it was a strong day for Team HARD all round” smiled Hill.
Hill will now focus on taking the data gathered and preparing for the next round, also at Snetterton at the end of July.
“I think this has been the most productive couple of days we’ve had. Huge thanks to TAG Racing, to Andy, Dan, Kingsley, Ian and Kieren - and as always Tony - for all their hard-work and support. Really looking forward to the rest of the season!”
