Testimonials
Jake has been part of the BRDC (British Racing Drivers Club) ‘Rising Stars’ programme since 2010….this is the longest any young driver has been recognised for his ability and potential to become a professional driver and represent the BRDC on an International stage.
‘Jake is an example of the staircase of opportunity through the ‘TOCA’ package support races. He is a superb example of the type of talented, promotable and presentable young drivers that are the future stars of the BTCC. He impressed hugely in his first full season in 2016 and I am certain he will be a race winner and potentially a future champion - he’s one to watch for sure”
- Alan Gow - Series Director, BTCC
“We wanted young and talented drivers in our team in 2016 and our partners felt Jake was an ideal choice. He delivered. At every race he got the maximum from the car, was not only super fast but also a brilliant racer. He worked so well with his engineers and crew and confirmed our faith in him. Our team is about promoting talent and in Jake we have one of the best talent’s on the grid. A real star”
- Tony Gilham - Team principle, Team HARD
“Fast, a superb racer, intelligent and a PR dream out of the car. Jake is the complete package. He will only get better. He is a star already and a race winner in waiting. In our review of the year the BTCC team managers voted Jake 6th overall - ahead of Plato, Neal, Ingram and (Aron) Smith….that’s remarkable….it shows how much of an impression he made, especially with the people who really know what matters. A real star”
- Matt James - BTCC Editor AUTOSPORT and Motorsport News
“I’ve known Jake since he was about 11 years-old when he helped out my team RedLine Racing and used to clean the wheels and polish the bodywork of my Porsche Carerra Cup Car. He was a cheeky and confident lad then, and seeing him become the talented young driver he is now is fantastic. Having watched Jake do a superb job in his brief time in Porsche Supercup and Carerra Cup GB I have no doubt with the right support he will be a championship challenger in either of those series. He has a huge natural talent and the character to match”
- Richard Westbrook - 2004 Porsche Carerra Cup GB Champion - 2006 & 2007 Porsche Supercup Champion
“We first noticed Jake when he was the class of the Ginetta Junior field, so supported him in 2011 and gave him a run in our BTCC car. He was calm and professional then and we gave him another run in 2014 - it was instantly apparent how much he’d matured, so much so he was the first choice for us to run in British GT in 2015. He did a superb job in a tricky car and it meant he was an obvious fit to drive our BTCC Audi in the final event at Brands. He did a much better job than the results suggested, and only bad luck prevented him getting a better result. He is one of the most naturally talented drivers I’ve seen - calm, professional and a real team player”

“Jake tested at Paul Ricard in the Ferrari 458GT3 with my team Villorba Corsa. He did not know this circuit or this car but asked many very good questions before his laps. I was very impressed with his times because he has not many laps, but made big improvement in a small time. One of the most difficult circuits and tough cars to learn, this guy is very fast, a really fast learner, makes no mistakes…he will be a top driver for sure”
- Andrea Montermini - F1 Driver, 22 GP’s, IndyCar, GT Open Champion
“I’d followed Jake’s progress for a few years, then the opportunity presented itself to give him a run in one of our BTCC Ford Focus cars at the end of 2012. He did exactly what was asked of him, he listened, was fast and consistent and made no mistakes. So the following June when we needed someone to stand in for our regular driver Liam Griffin at Croft, Jake was the obvious choice. He was fastest in practice, then Won his class in his first ever BTCC race, at just 19 - and he would have won another one had he not been taken out. In and out of the car he’s extremely professional; we’d love to have him represent us again”

“Since 2010 I have been involved in supporting Jake and working on helping find like-minded investors. I first saw Jake in action at Rockingham in 2010 when he was racing in Ginetta Juniors - he took Pole Position and dominated the race with fastest lap, a perfect drive, and instantly knew that as a driver, and as a person, he had what it took. Sportif Motor Group (my company) have got so much from being involved - taking guests for a VIP experience at events, utilising Jake on PR and Marketing events, and as a driver coach on events I organise for the GTR Owner’s Club - but most importantly delivering every time in every type of car he’s raced. I know will soon find the support Jake’s talent deserves.”
